The other day a reputable insider under the nickname Lunatic Ignus stated that very soon gamers will be waiting for the long-awaited announcement of the sequel to the famous Resident Evil series. The sudden announcement from Sony about the State of Play event made many fans think that the game can be seen there already. However, another reliable source of leaks, Dusk Golem, has denied that Resident Evil 9 will appear as part of the PlayStation games presentation.
Dusk Golem noted in his post that his sources in Capcom and Sony circles could not confirm the announcement of Resident Evil 9 at the upcoming State of Play. The insider also added that at the moment because of TGS 2024 there is some chaos among the organizers and publishers, and it is difficult to determine when exactly will be the announcement of a particular game. He still doesn’t know when the next installment of the horror series will be officially unveiled.
A year ago Capcom planned to announce Resident Evil 9 this summer and release the game in early 2025, but the developers needed more time and these plans were postponed. Dusk Golem is not taking any claims, but still doubts the announcement of a new Resident Evil this month. However, he is sure that the game will be unveiled very soon, possibly at The Game Awards 2024.
